The sensitive plant, or mimosa pudica gets its name from the unique movement of its leaves. The leaves have tiny hairs and react to touch, temperature and motion. If you poke the plant, it small fronds will fold inwards, which is a natural defense mechanism for the plant. Sensitive plants are very easy to care for, and want full sunlight and consistently moist soil. They are a great addition to your collection if you like plants with unique behaviors.
Care: Care Difficulty: Very easy.
Light: Prefers full sun, tolerates some shade. Closed leaflets indicate not enough sun.
Water: Keep soil consistently moist, water when top of the soil is dry.
